Abstract

The machining process requires a high level of efficiency and effectiveness. The production process is carried out using CNC with two stages, namely roughing and finishing. The roughing program is made to speed up the machining process, but must still pay attention to the quality characteristics that affect the final quality of the product. Process time has a linear effect on production costs, as well as if there is a product failure. Process parameters that affect process time are cutting speed (m / min), feed rate (mm / rev) and depth of cut (mm). The experimental design used the factorial method with three replications and two levels, namely Cutting speed 200, 220 mpm, feed rate 0.15 and 0.2, depth of cut 1 and 1.5. The minimum time achieved was 4.05 minutes at cutting speed 200, feed rate 0.2 and depth of cut 1.5. Feed rate is a very dominant factor in reducing process time.
